Now I Wish to chat about Kombucha. That is obviously entirely unrelated to those Banana Oatmeal Cookies, however I know you won't mind.

Allow me to start by stating that my husband drinks apple cider vinegar mixed with warm water daily to decrease inflammation or anything like that.

He claims it's magical. I claim it's nasty.

Depending upon this response, an individual would think I would stay far away from Kombucha, right? I suggest, after all, it certainly has a vinegary tang.

But for whatever reason, I keep trying it. I want to enjoy it SO DANG BAD.

I'm really a marketer's fantasy cause each and every time I see somebody I know enjoying a sip, or simply denying their favourite brand and flavor with a boomerang on Instagram, I am all,"Maybe you will really taste acceptable!" .

Just imagine me using air quotes around the word appreciating cause I find it difficult to believe this stuff is truly enjoyable in almost any sense of the word.

And spoiler alert. Not one of them taste good. None.

While I am not claiming these banana oatmeal cookies will be the least healthful (cause hello sugar and butter), I am claiming they are delicious.

They have the ideal amount of banana flavor and a beautiful chewy texture as a result of its oats. The chocolate chips are just an extra bonus.

I like these biscuits somewhat on the back side side, therefore that I inhale them for 9 or 10 seconds. If you prefer them to be cooked through, I would take for 10-11 minutes.

1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature

1 large egg

3/4 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 2 medium)

1 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

3 1/4 cup old fashioned oats


Preheat oven to 350°F.

Scrape the sides of the bowl and then mix in the egg until completely incorporated. Scrape down the sides of the bowl and add in the mashed bananas and vanilla.

In a medium bowlwhisk together the flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon.

Gently add the bread mixture to the banana mixture and blend until just blended.

Scrape the sides of the bowl and then stir to recombine.

Stir in the oats and chocolate chips and blend until incorporated.

Use a medium cookie scoop (approximately 1.5 tablespoons) to scoop the dough onto prepared cookie sheets leaving about two inches between each cookie.

Bake in preheated oven for 9-11 minutes.

Remove cookies from the oven and then next gently press on the tops of each cookie with the bottom of a drinking glass. Since these cookies don't spread considerably, this will give them a conventional cookie shape.
